Beaches
Majorca is full of unforgettable fine white sand beaches. Many of them have developed as tourist resorts which welcome thousands of holiday makers every summer. Nevertheless, of the 76 beaches described on this website, some are completely unspoilt; some can be reached easily and others are hidden away.
One of the advantages of being on an island is, that whilst the beaches on the north shore recieve onshore winds and get choppy waves, the beaches on the southern coast of Mallorca will be fine, and this is an important consideration when deciding which beach to visit.
Temperature
Sea temperatures vary from around 28°C (84°F) in August to 13°C (55°F) in January. In November and June you can expect a temperature of about 18°C (64°F), warming up the closer to the summer months you get.
Waterquality
The quality of the water is mostly very good on Mallorca and a lot of beaches even remind us of the Caribbean with its turquoise waters and fine white sand beaches.
Wind
The wind comes mainly from the north direction. In some places a slight sea wind can blow during the day. It can become quite uncomfortable, when the strong Tramontana blows from the north or the Schirokko from the south.
Nudists
Nudist beaches are generally considered as having a low number of beach-goers due to their usual locations.
Therefore, in theory the present legislation states that it is completely legal to practice nudism in public.
The fact that certain beaches have been classified as nude beaches in Mallorca, does not mean that only nudists are allowed entry... in the same way as it is possible for there to be nudists in non-nudist beaches.
It is therefore up to you where and how you practice your naturism in Mallorca, if this is your intention.
Allocation of the beaches
We have allocated the beaches in different areas. Shortly you will be able to read the complete details about all the mentioned beaches by simply clicking into the according titles. In the meantime we are sorry for any inconvenience.
